Tacoma Golf & Country Club

Tacoma, WA

When the Tacoma Country & Golf Club needed to replace their original systems from 1961, they contacted ASEI for a design-build solution to install water-cooled variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems. The systems were replaced one section at a time, as club operations never ceased. Removal of old multi-zone units in the attic required surgical demolition, protection of walls and carpets, and safe interaction with staff and members. The resulting system is highly efficient, with improved outside air economizers, and is much quieter.

ASEI also acted as the general contractor, coordinating our electrical work, plumbing subcontractor, commercial duct cleaning, framing, and drywall crews to create attic access and surface protection, along with fire sprinkler modifications.

Overall, we installed 50 tons of VRF, 19 air handlers with new economizers, an improved locker room ventilation system with heat recovery, new building controls, and a new hot water boiler. After a successful installation, Tacoma Country & Golf signed up to have all their equipment on a maintenance contract with us. ASEI is now the HVAC service provider for all their facilities.
